Klaveness - recently made an announcement that a new strategy was internally adopted and the family company will invest more in the next period in container tonnage either new buildings or second hand vessels.

On 22nd April 2010 the first container vessels - MV Amundsen initial under partial ownership joined Klaveness fleet but as of today the vessel is 100% Klaveness owned.

Two more vessels 3000 TEU are expected to join the Klaveness fleet, first primo September and second primo October.

The Klaveness container fleet is expected to increase considerable until the end of 2010.

The new acquisition program will grant Barklav and by default Romanian seafarers (officers and crew) long term job opportunity in a safe and prudent working environment onboard Klaveness container vessels. It is well known that Klaveness has invested a lot in building up the "family" concept, seafarers are treated decently onboard the ships beside at home their families are involved in different social programs with the main aim to be closer to those who are bringing value to the company.

Through the annual Klaveness Officers Conference - the company is meant to be among it's seafarers, to keep a permanent dialogue and to find ways of cooperation for both side end benefit.
